- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆June 23, 2020, by Stormy**Would give 0/5 stars if I could** Decided to stop in during an impromptu trip to Eureka from Canada. Everything is horrendously overpriced, which would be fine if the quality of the items were even somewhat maintained, but many items were extremely tarnished, in poor condition, and not valuable, practicable, nor are they even suitable to be displayed in a shop, house, or collection, for that matter. From the moment we walked in, the man who I assume is the owner of the business ignored us and when we asked if we could view a ring, he looked put out as he slowly got up and meandered over to present it wordlessly. My friend inquired for the price of a belt and was told it was $150. My friend said it was a good price and asked the man if he minded if he could please view the belt (as he had been looking for a belt like that for a while and he just wanted to check the sizing and quality of the material) and the man finally engaged with by responding flatly with—and I quote—"Actually yes, I do mind." and didn't further elaborate or explain why. Everywhere else we stopped in Eureka had absolutely lovely workers and excellent customer service (Humboldt Crystals, Partrick's Candy, and the Humboldt Bay Trade & Pawn come to mind.), so I don't understand why it was so polarizingly opposite here. I can honestly say that while we will come back to Eureka to enjoy the sights and visit the same shops we had such pleasant experiences in, we will never again go to Heritage Antiques & Coins.
- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆February 01, 2020, by Wendy HamiltonOwner is not nice at all. Mostly ignored me and my friends pretty openly, we were respectful and friendly despite realizing he didn't want us in his store. Ironically, my friend did want to buy a n asked if he'd mind showing us something that was behind the counter, he said "actually, I would mind" and resumed doing whatever he was doing. Such a poor and unfair judge of character. If he is the same with the pieces in his store, I can't imagine his antiques are worth much or well taken care of for that matter. Disappointing to say the least.
